Early and/or late at some point in time that existed not too long ago, a new event happened. This event was apparently newsworthy enough to be featured here in this news column.

According to our trusted source over at somewhere, the thing that happened was a thing which happened in a certain manner. Little information is available at this time, but it's our understanding that the thing that happened was surprising to most people.

In light of recent events, this new event has been put into a different context. It's implied that if the aforementioned recent events had not happened, this current event would not be as newsworthy. It should be stressed that we don't have all the facts at this moment, but despite that, we're going to delve into the realm of deep speculation anyway.
